HostServ provides cloaks and authentication services. This is not a UserServ or a NickServ.
All commands must be sent by doing /msg HostServ <command>
Set up and usage
Create a key by doing gen
, or use a cloak provided by an operator.
You can then enable your cloak in 3 ways:
- You may enable CertFP on your key by doing
certfp <key> on|off
. Only one CertFP is allowed and you must be connected with the CertFP to use. - You may use SASL PLAIN with username
HostServ
on a server that is connected to sasl.semisol.dev
* You may also use SASL EXTERNAL with CertFP. * This option means you may join invite-only channels immediately.
- You may run
use <key>
You will be assigned an account name that can be used with +I and a cloak hostserv/u/ACCOUNT
.
User information
It is possible to get user information by doing id <nick>
. This will return:
- The HostServ account name.
- The custom account name, if any.
- The custom cloak, if any.
- The user's key, if ran with
--show-key
and HostServ admin privileges.
For opers
You may generate oper-keys by doing genoper <cloak> [account]
. The only difference is the account name and cloak can be customized.
You may permanently destroy a key by doing destroy <key>
.
If you want admin privileges, please contact chmod, which allows you to view user keys.
